New softball coach and more

We just visited Yale on tour and also Hartford and our review will be forthcoming and travel tips. Many from BC were at the Norman Mailer lecture at the Grand Army Plaza today and the jazz outside it. We will have a review of it.

The Brooklyn College Office of Recreation, Intramurals & Intercollegiate Athletics has named Michael Ponsiglione as the Interim Head Softball Coach. Ponsiglione comes to BC from St. Joseph by the Sea High School in Staten Island, NY, where he served as Varsity Head Coach since 2010 and amassed an incredible 100-9 record over four seasons. In 2010, his first season, Ponsiglione led his team to the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) New York State Championship with a perfect 29-0 record and a #3 final ranking in the New York State Sportswriters Poll, en route to being named the New York State Coach of the Year, the New York Post Staten Island Coach of the Year and the Daily News New York City Coach of the Year. During his four seasons at Sea, Ponsiglione’s teams captured four straight Staten Island CHSAA championships (2010-2013) and three Archdiocesan championships (2010, 2012, 2013). St. Joseph is currently ranked 6th in the state and 1st in NYC by MSG Varsity.
Ponsiglione will be taking over a team that is coming off a 23-17 record and an ECAC Metro Tournament appearance.  The team only loses two seniors and returns the reigning CUNYAC Player of the Year, Kayla Hill.  tp://cunyathletics.com/news/2013/7/29/SB_0729132121.aspx?path=softball
