Saturday: Mermaid Parade is the most under dressed parade. It has a Mardi Gras atmo. $100, 000 was raised due to funds going to Hurricane Sandy to keep the parade. The nation’s largest art claims to have more than 150,000 New York City artists are scheduled to showcase colorful (and barely-there) costumes, motorized floats, antique cars, and moving art pieces. Last year’s crowd reached a record 750,000 spectators. Parade starts at 1pm West 21 St. and Surf Ave. to West 10th Street. It will be hard to  cross Surf Avenue except maybe 21 Street and by the Aquarium. Parade might go to the boardwalk where the crowds are smaller.   Right afterwards there is a ceremony in the ocean and a party boat 6pm – 11pm. 21 and over.  There usually is a ball check at http://coneyisland.com/
