About 100 people gathered at a candlelight vigil in Brooklyn Saturday night to remember the victims of a violent car crash in the Gravesend section. Three people were killed and three others injured early Saturday. Both people in the Toyota were killed: 24-year-old Leonora and 26-year-old Andre Capers-Jones. The driver of the Acura Jonathan Sade also died in the crash. Lavaud transferred from Kingsborough Community College in 2010 to pursue a degree in psychology. She was an active member of Chi Iota Omega Sorority
Capers-Jones was also active in the ZBT fraternity, and was a Health Administration major at New York Tech and got an Associated Degree at Brooklyn College. He was involved with the BC fraternity He wanted to be a special needs teacher.
BC President Karen L. Gould wrote: We mourn the loss of these two promising and generous young people. We know that their spirits will live in the hearts of our campus community and especially in the memories of those who knew them personally.
