News briefs: past student government president Cory Provost wins District Leader, MEDO/PRA movie, The Fitness Center hours adjustment

Past Graduate Student Organization student president and USS president Cory Provost on 9/13/2012 was voted into the District Leader of the 58th Assembly District. He e-mailed that “I am overtaken with great humility by the outpouring of congratulatory remarks from everyone, and the support of the voters of the 58th Assembly District that believe and trust in me to represent them”. Cory Provost fought to improve access to affordable education, is a presidential delegate for President Obama and on the ticket with Assemblyman Nick Perry and Melba Brown who ran for state committee.

M.E.D.O and PRA are proud to present our first movie screening of the semester and the movie is screening is “Almost a Women”. It is our great honor to be collaborating with the Film Society on this event and we hope that all can make it. The movie screening will take place this  Wednesday Sept. 19 on the rooftop of SUBO( the student center). The movie we will be screening is “Almost a Women”. We will start the screening at 6:30pm. After the movie has finished we will open the floors to a discussion about the movies and thoughts. FOOD AND DRINKS will also be provided. We look forward to having you all there,  from Gissell President of M.E.D.O. 

The Fitness Center will be closed this Friday for maintenance.  Due to swim team practices the pool will be closed Monday to Thursday from 3:45 to 6:15pm. Swimming competitions the pool will be closed, check  at where they give out lockers. Fridays the pool closes at 3:45pm.
