Learn about the risk of Diabetes and other deficiencies that can develop due to unhealthy eating habits. 718-951-4505,

Woody Guthrie’s Freedom Songs  and lecture with Will Kaufman, 12:30- 2:05 PM in the Library’s Woody Tanger Auditorium and performance for free.

Campus Conversations 12:30 to 1:30pm, will focus on the Constitution and Free Speech in the Alumni Lounge, Brooklyn College Student Center. Mini-Constitutions will be available.

Woody Guthrie Centennial Celebration, Student Center Gold Room 6th FL, Saturday 10 AM – 5PM. Description: Join us for a day of speakers, media presentations, and music performances celebrating the life and songs of America’s most famous folk poet. Highlights include the “The Dylan/Guthrie Connection” keynote by distinguished Princeton University Historian Sean Wilentz and interviews with renowned folk artists Judy Collins, and Billy Bragg.  The evening will culminate in a concert – “This Land is Your Land Concert” with Pete Seeger and more. Please note that Pete Seeger will perform in the concert but is not participating in the panel discussion at the conference. The full Guthrie Conference schedule is available at: 

Constitution Day  Monday, September 17, 2012 – Fri , September 21, 2012 (all day) Various across Campus, Description: September 17 is designated as Constitution and Citizenship Day. This day commemorates the formation and signing of the Constitution of the United States of America on September 17, 1787. On that date, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the Constitution and presented it to the public. September 17 is the day that recognizes all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, become citizens.   Brooklyn College commemorates Constitution  Day by:                         The Brooklyn College Student Center will have a Constitution display in their first floor lobby through September 21.                                                                                    -NYPIRG and various clubs on campus will conduct tabling – registering voters, and disseminating mini-Constitution and various other materials.

The Brooklyn College Library will host a full week-long Constitution Day exhibit display to include copies of the Constitution and other information related to the Day.
