The Lay Advocate Program provides free confidential legal assistance to BC students, faculty and staff. Areas: Housing, land lord-tenant, divorce, custody, grade appeal, financial aid, disciplinary action, public assistance, food stamps, Medicaid, unemployment, termination, consumer law, immigration, criminal law, preventative counseling and others not listed. A licensed attorney will provide free legal advice and refer you to further services as necessary. They do not represent you. If calling during unstaffed hours leave a message and they will get back to you in 24 hours.
