The recent election was a first for first disabled senator and gay senator and legalized marijuana in a few states. A good idea came up on Thursday’s Curtis Sliwa Radio Show. A caller suggested for evacuation shelters using the unused hospitals which are at least one in every borough. They have all the facilities with kitchens and bathrooms. Sliwa agreed and was to check into it. His critics have called it the Curtis Sleaze-wah Show. He has has done a lot of volunteer and charity work. He has done some publicity stunts as this title was.
The 2012 Brooklyn College study “Women in Intercollegiate Sport” found that female participation in college athletics is now the highest in history, with 200,000 women intercollegiate athletes in 2012.
BC Dream Team: The Brooklyn Immigrant Youth Coalition (BIYC) along La Union and African Services Committee will be hosting a FREE Deferred Action Legal Services Workshop. The workshop is SATURDAY, November 10th. It will take place at the Lutheran Family Support Center (6025 6th Avenue between 60th and 61st streets in Sunset Park off the 59th Stop on the R and N line). At this workshop they will assist in filling out the DACA Application, and there will be an opportunity to speak to lawyers that will be present that day.
